Horse Track
Jason Stough
Thoroughbred racing is a sport. They have their own section in espn.com which makes them a sport in my book. If it is a sport then the horses are the athletes.

Athletes at the professional level demand outrageous things. Their mandatory demand should be that their safety is assured day in day out of when they compete.

Evangeline Downs Racetrack put three million dollars into insuring the safety of their athletes. June 29th the track will open again and it will be a success.
The opening of the tracks to thoroughbred racing will be the first time since May. Jockeys complained that the track base was disintegrating, making racing unsafe. With further review a race official employed by the track found that the base was stable but discovered that the racing surface was uneven, causing water to build up after a heavy rain.
The track was rebuilt. Now it should rival any track in the state.
